I Love The Way You Love Me

I am a bit delayed in my writing, but I have been in a basic state of shock as of late.

Let me start from the beginning and it's going to be a bit long winded but It will be worth it.

Trust. I really don't even know how to start because I feel like the happiest luckiest little lady in the world, and the be able to put this all into words, and to put the entire experience into words is just crazy!! Because I just am in Shock! Brian is so tricky!

The engagement:

Brian had a whole plan, he is so tricky. I was completely oblivious because of course I was to excited about my own adventures for the weekend, Boston, Fenway, DMB and JILLIAN! Since Brian decided he wasn't going to be able to go to Boston with me to see the show... I assumed he didn't want to go because of his avoidance of all things RED SOX, or was it because he is allergic to Fenway (which I think he really believes because I can't get that boy to Fenway to save my soul..)... but you can't help who you love, and I took the weekend with Jillian because I will never pass up a weekend with my lover.

I'll admit, I felt really bad leaving CT without Brian coming with me.. But he continued to assure me that it was ok, he didn't really want to go, he didn't want to spend a lot of money, and he had a weekend of table refinishing ahead of him (there's a picture of this I promise)... so it was ok to go and to have a good time with Jillian..done and done.. :o)

Boston was amazingly fun. Jillian and Hope greeted me and kept me entertained the entire time... they were chatting me up the entire weekend, I was relaxed and happy, I kept saying gosh this weekend really couldn't get any better! The weather was AMAZING. Right when I got to Jill's apartment, we had a few drinks and sat in the living room to catch up, typically as with girls our age with boyfriends, the conversation turned into our wonderful boyfriends, we all talked about their lives and our futures... I honestly thought I was being SUPER annoying talking about it, and I didn't want to sound like I was expecting it, or that talking about how excited I was for Mexico, and how I thought that mayyyyybeeee Brian might propose there was the only thing I think about.. but they seemed SOOO interested in my answers, so i answered all their silly questions.. I had noooooo idea why they were realllly so interested...

We'd had enough of our living room chatter, and decided it was time to head downtown to meet up with Katie & Co for dinner... We had a realllly great dinner, and let me say, restaurants and bars in Boston play THE BEST music ever!... and right before we left I ran to run the bathroom, god knowwwss I have one drink and my bladder goes on strike,... When I came back to the table it was oddly quiet, and I remember thinking that I maybe I had toilet paper stuck in my shoe or a piece of lettuce in my teeth and maybe no one wanted to tell me?? (see how paranoid I can get.. haha) but those little tricksters Jillian and Hope spilled the beans to everyone every time I turned around, and so they had been talking about me... but they are forgiven because it was in a good way!

Jillian and I departed dinner and headed off to Fenway for the concert, we had amazing seats, the concert was spectacular and we were having a blast! We played imaginary instruments, we danced, we sang, we had an all together amazing evening. I honestly thought when we left Fenway that there was NO way that life could get any better.... (boy was I wrong)

We got home and passed out after meeting up with Hope, Katie, Jared, Chip and Co at another fun establishment who played fannnnntastic tunes... When we woke up Jillian mentioned that she had to work at like 1:30 so she was kicking me out soon... We walked to a wonderful little breakfast nook where I had thhheee most delicious bagel egg and cheese of my life and walked home... I was starting to get sad because I really didn't want to leave, and I was trying to delay it as long as possible, but I also didn't want to Jill to be late, and everytime I started to get going, we'd end up sitting back down and chatting some more... so finally I went up to her room, and grabbed my stuff, and agggain, Jill and Hope came to stall some more, Hope said she wanted to see pictures of what Brian looked like, and wanted to show me pictures of her boyfriend Bob on facebook (and who am I to say no to a little Facebook procrastination?)...

Finally I was like ok Jill you have to let me leave because I don't want you to be late!

So we BOTH get into our separate cars and drive away; I was super sad to leave, but she drove by me talking on her cell phone waving, and I felt much better... And I was excited to get home Take a Nap and then write my paper and then have cake for Sara's birthday..........

I called Brian just as I was leaving Boston and told him to expect me in Plainville around 3, so if he wanted to come over for dinner and cake he can come over anytime after that. Of course he said sure.. and i told him hurry because I wanted to hang out with him!

flash forward two hours...

When I pulled in the driveway I saw my mom and dad and they were walking over to my aunts to get chairs for later... of course I explained to them in a calm and loving manner that I was to tired to help... (calm and loving, calm and loving)

As I was walking up to the house my yelled back, "oh yea, you got a package in the mail, its on the table"

hmmmm A package? was it my contacts? I only ordered them two days ago....

And then I saw it... sitting on the table...a beautiful box.. wrapped in silver and black paper... my first thought? Brian bought me a BUNNY! until I saw the little post it... "amy open when you first get home"

I opened the first box, and I pretty much knew what was going on... inside this big box was tissue paper, and another smaller box, wrapped, with another little note... and another little box, and another little note... I was shaking, I was thinking, I'm not sure this is really happening, I was trying not to let myself get worked up because so far there was not little velvet box,... until the last box... (and now I'm thinking, where's brian!??) I opened it and there it was.. a ring box.. and I just stared at it, there was no note on top of this box, and it was to light to hold one of those velvet ring boxes... so I opened it up, and there was the note, "go to the front door"

Front Door?? I turned around, and there was no one there! and Now I'm seriously confused, because I don't understand what's going on... I yelled out for him, assuming he's hiding somewhere, but nothing... So I went to the bathroom (it was a long drive from boston), and when I came out I saw him creeping up the porch...

I yelled "Brian! what are you doing!?" and he jumped about 3 feet in the air, I pulled him down, and told him to come inside and tell me what was going on!.... (I was so happy to see him... where was his car? what's really going on?)

He came inside, I was so nervous I started talking a lot and fast, It's kind of blurry, but the next thing I know he just had the most wonderful look on his face, with a big huge smile, and he said, "STOP".... got down on one knee... and asked me to marry him.....

and ... I said YES!!!!

The rest of the afternoon was a big blurr of phone calls, and hugs and happy tears... and every so often I'd get a chance to catch Brian's eye, and we'd just smile at each other, because this is something that we both know is sooo right, and we can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together.....

Unreal, unbelievable, and so excited!

R.I.P. LeRoi Moore... and how i came to love DMB

Anyone who's anyone, to me.... Anyone who has only known me for five minutes, 5 seconds, for any timeframe at all KNOWS my obsession with Dave Matthews Band.

And anyone who has attended a concert with me (Kristen, Brian mostly) will know my obsession with playing invivible instruments, and the saxaphone was one of my favorites....

Tuesday night I was checking Perez, as usual, before I was going to bed and this was where I saw that the top post stated R.I.P. to LeRoi Moore of DMB.
"No!" I wouldn't belive it! Actually I coudln't belive it. I was immediatly sad, and sent out texts to every Dave fan I knew... I didn't know what to do... I can only attibute my saddness to what any Dead Head would have felt the day they learned that Jerry Garcia had died....
It was my dad who introduced me to DMB. Growing up he had us listening to The Dead and CCR, and when I was poking through his CD collection one day in 1998 looking for new music to try out, I stumbled upon this CD by a band I had never heard of before ( I can actually remember the exact moment that I found the CD and the first time I ever listened to it; who knew what a major part of my life this band was to become) .. the Cd was ------> Under the Table and Dreaming. I have the same CD in my car to this day. A week doesn't go by that I don't play it through at least once. It was my Dad's CD, and it was My dad who took me to my first concert that summer (and the one and only year I didn't share my DMB expierience with Kristen), and from that day on, I have not missed one summer tour in state. I have always dreaded the moment that i learned that there would be no summer tour. It has become a major staple in my life...
And if the Summer Tours do continue....I can't imagine looking up at the stage not seeming every member there.

This summer I was lucky enough to be in the seats at one of the shows right before LeRoi's accident, and I was able to see him play............

I feel as if I know each member personally, It sounds crazy, I know. But no matter what I have been thhrough, there is a song, or an album that will cater to those needs. I have seen them in concert so many times, and each time I say, "this was way better than the last one."

I'm so sad for The Band, and for his family, and I feel like a part of my own family is gone......

Fabulous Friday!

Hello friends!

I'm finally sitting in an internet cafe.. not as easy to come by as one would imagine. \this one happens to be on a steet near my hotel, with is half internet cafe half subway. THANKFULLY i've already eaten breakfast, and i won't subject myself to american food in england lol.

I can't belive how much time has flown by already. \since tuesday I've been by myself during the day time while Kim goes to work. Its been really nice and relaxing, and the weater has been unbeliveable. It has not rained once! and i even have a minoooorrr sunburn.

Today, well this morning, its only like 930 right now, its a bit cloudier than its been, and muggy. I'm hanging out until i have to head over to buckingham palace for the changing of the guard. I'm hoping its nice enough after so i can find a nice park to take a nap in.

The last few days I've just basically wandered around the city aimlessly. I've eaten fish and chips, and tonnnns of candy (kim showed me really cheap cady store, and its so delishious i go there everyday for a little bit of sweet goodness) I've gone to the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, the Tate Modern, (all art galleries) I've gone back to the Tower of London, Parliment again, I eat dinner on tuesday in a sidewalk cafe called the mermaids tail, in Leicester Square, I ate fish and chips as big as my head! And on wednesday I eat in an Italian restarunt chain they have here called Bella Italia, and I had this yummy spicy shrimp pasta dish. And yestrday I got cheapy greasy fish and chips from a vendor outside of the tower of london, and I sat at a little table face the Tower Bridge in front of me, and the Tower of london like 20 feet to my left. IT was magnificent.

Last Night Kim met me in Leicester Square, and we went and saw the Phantom of the Opera. It was sooo good, we had pretty good seats, and I realllly enjoyed it. I didn't even fall asleep onve.. (i have a tendency to do that suring plays LOL) By the time we got out it was pretty late, like 10ish, abd the tube near our hotel was going to be closing soon, so we started to head back, but we were starrrving! no where was open near the hotel, so we ate these little cookies that room service leaves us and called it a night. That was probably the food god telling me I had eaten enough fish and chips and candy that last few days that i did not need to be eating dinner.

Well I guess for now thats all.. I'm going to go check up on Perez... I haven't seen anyone famous yet... Well i miiiiggghhhhtttt MIGHT have seen justin timberlake... or someone who looks just like him walked past me the other day and i almost threw up i was so excited.. lol but it prolyl wasn't him.

I'm off to amsterdam tonight! i miss you all!
I've been taking alot of pictures i can't wait to show them off!

London!

Sorry this is short and sweet but i'm dead tired and can't wait to take my shoes off.

I can't belive i'm actually here, this is amazing, everything is baeutiful, and i'm having the time of my life...

As soon as I got to the hotel on Friday night me and Kim went to Pub down the street, made friends with a Brit named Ian, he was old and halarious, and i even made a few prank calls on his cell phone, we drank a few pints of beeeer and did a few shots of tequilla (in your honor Jami)
It was a great way to say hello to London.

Saturday we went to the Tower of London, walked over the Tower Bridge, walked 3 miles down a trail next to the Thames, walked back across the thames saw big ben, parliment, had the BEST Ice cream ever, and went to King Cross, the palce where they film all the harry potter movies, I found Platform 9 3/4 soooo cool! Jenny you would have lovvved it! and it was really fun.

Today we went on the London Eye, which was really cool, Colleen I waved at your school! then took an hour train ride to Windsor, and walked down to Eton College from there. I saw a reallly cool old book store, but it was closed, which sucked cuz i really wanted to buy a cool old book from england.. but did see alot of young brittish boys.

I don't have alot of time, so i'll try and find a internet cafe soon!

Miss you all!
xoxo

I'm Leavin on a Jet Plane!

Leaving the states at 9AM!!

My ear is still killing me.. I've taken enough ibuprofen to sedate a medium sized Buffalo, and I'm still not done packing! I thought I was, but then I took everything out, and restarted. I hope my ear doesn't bust open during take off! That might make the news though, and that'd be pretty sweet!
Surprisingly I'm not all that nervous. But i've been busy since I got home. I'm sure the nerves will set in once I'm alone at the airport, and I have to say good bye to my iphone for 12 days!

I borrowed my parents video camera, so I'm really excited to be able to take pictures AND videos. I'm going to be the touristy tourist that I've dreamed of being my whole life!

So back to my packing. I think I'm bringing wayyy to many articles of clothing.. and whyy, i wonder, do I feel the need to bring 2 pairs of shoes that look like they came straight out of MK olsen's closet? That's not a rhetorical question, it's legitimate, and the only answer I have is that i'm crazy, and what if I do meet someone cool and famous and they don't want to hang out because my shoes are ugly! Plussssssss I can't very well go to the Sex and the City premire in flats! that's a SIN, and I'd go straight to HELL!

So far I'm doing good tired wise. I took a 1/2 hour nap earlier and I think I can make it at least until at least 4, when we leave for the airport. I guess this is pretty boring now.. No sights to report, and no crazy travel stories to convey, but what I can say is that I am so thankful for this opportunity and I can't wait to run wild through the streets of London... annnnnd Amsterdam!

<3 you all!

London!

Well, We can all thank Ashley for the grand idea of starting a Blag. I read hers and was super jealous, so now she has some competition in me!
This is actually a really BIG week for me...
I've finally decided that its my time to fly! Literally.
I'm leaving for London on Friday, and spending 11 days split between there and Amsterdam.
With everything that has been going on in my life lately, I think this is just what the Dr. ordered.
Colleen stopped by earlier and dropped off some really cute and fun London things. I can't wait to put them all to good use! Thankfully she gave me and awesome guide book that will help me in my path of least "lost-ness." Speaking of Lost!!! I'm going to miss two weeks of lost while i'm away! That and survivor is almost enough to keep me home, but that that much so.

As I'm sitting here writing this, behind me are two empty suitcases and an ENTIRE living room covered with tshirts, jeans and shoes. Its a bit overwhelming, but thankfully I have Idol to keep me company. But i guess the suitcases have won the battle of the stare, and I should go fill them up with my favorite outfits, and zipper them shut.

Cheers!
