Live from Connecticut.... We have Snow, In October.
The majority of the state is in the dark this evening. Many power lines down due to downed trees, and this is effecting the MAJORITY of the power in the state. We are extremely lucky that we have power, and are one of the very few to have it... We have been entertaining family and friends who have been without power for about a day now.
We have been told that the power may not be restored for multiple days (maybe up to a week). School has been cancelled in the majority of the state due to schools and towns being without power......
All of that being said: Mother nature does the most amazing things.... I'm not a snow kind of gal, but when it snows, I love the crispness of the air (for about 5 minutes)... and this morning,
The picture above was the view outside of my front door. This is my favorite Lilac Tree... It usuallllllly stands straight and tall but with the weight of the leaves, the snow and the ice it was completely bent over this morning.
I watched the tree all through the storm, watched it begin to bend under the weight of the snow and ice and not one single branch snapped off..
